I learned a lot from this project. I’m taking Intro to Graphics and Visual Communications, JRN 302, this semester so the whole inDesign process has been very new. While I knew some things about inDesign from previous courses, it was interesting playing around and attempting to get everything to fit together.

Another thing I learned was Lightroom. All throughout high school and the past semester here I had used Photoshop and didn’t want to switch over to Lightroom. When we were learning it in class I understood it, but I didn’t like it at all. This past week though I took time out to just mess around with it and memorize everything and in that process I completely changed my mind about it. While toning photos I took over the weekend I found myself going to Lightroom instead of Photoshop just because it was easier and quicker to use.

***Update April 27, 2016*** I had to use photoshop for a project in a different project, and it is now super frustrating to me after working with Lightroom nonstop for the whole semester whether it be for class or work.

I loved attending the concert. I originally asked for a photo pass and they declined, but once I mentioned it was for a class, Winter Jam was more then happy to give me the access that I wanted. It was interesting going through my photos and picking out what I liked, and then having Kent go through and pick out the photos that he liked. He had so much insight and chose way better photos then I did.

Over 20,000 people joined together for a night of worship, music, and fellowship at Winter Jam on January 31, 2016. Artists included Crowder, For King and Country, KB, Lauren Daigle, Matthew West, Newsong, RED, Sidewalk Prophets, and Tedashii. The show started at 5 pm with a pre-show party, which featured Stars Go Dim and We are Messengers. The main event began at 5:45 and lasted until roughly 11 pm.

While sets were being cleared after each performance, the audience heard messages from sponsors such as Holt International, an adoption agency that seeks to connect parents with potential children to adopt. Holt had tables set up in the middle of the crowd filled with pictures of children who need to be either adopted or sponsored. They also had a woman who got adopted through the agency share her story. Several tour members have adopted their children through Holt International.

Other speakers included Tony Nolan, an evangelist who has already spent several years with Winter Jam. After sharing about his rough childhood, Nolan stated “God is not here to punch you in the face. He is here to bless you with grace.”
